NaNoWriMo 2006

RPG Nexxus NaNoWri Club

Yeah, this post is a little late, but I know at least two, maybe three, of us from the Gateway are also involved in National Novel Writing Month madness. It's fast, fun, and furious.

Ever wanted to write a novel? This is the perfect opportunity. The goal is to write a 50K word novel in 30 days during November. Lots of people try and win every year. Winners are those people who finish by the 30th.

Want to give it a shot? Come on over to www.nanowrimo.org and sign up. Complete rules are there.

Every year, some NaNo novels get published by mainstream and e-book publishers. Who knows? Yours might be the next bestseller!

Definitely an awesome event that people should be trying their hands at. 50k words is a lot, but it's worth a shot and anything that promotes literature is awesome. If you consider yourself a budding author, it's a must!

Fifty thousand words may sounds like a lot, but once you get into your story, I find it's barely enough. Last year my NaNo novel was 62K and I'm pretty sure it's just book one of a trilogy. This year I chose to work on another story and it will be a standalone novel and might be just over 50K. We'll see.

Depends on how much the characters have to say. Regular Grin I'm just the conduit for them to tell their stories.
