Sites Disappearing from RPGGateway
OK, now that I have your attention
Seriously, we have a policy at the Gateway that if the confirmation email bounces, we remove your site from the index. I have had to remove something like four sites now, all hosted at the same webserver, because their confirmations bounced.
I'm guessing these are all legitimate sites, because they all seem on the up-and-up, they all made it into the index originally and they're all from the same host -- one that seems to be hosting multiplayer games.
However, policy is there for a reason, and I can't be investigating every new site that decides to block our email. (Reason = it's search engine spam prevention, not that I'm selling your email addresses.)
Which gets into interesting discussion: the reason the email is rejected. The server on which these games are hosted is using an old version of spamcop's blocking database. Note I said 'old.' The RPGNexxus is not currently listed on spamcop, nor have we been for at least a year now (since before I had the IP, so technically RPGNexxus has NEVER been listed on spamcop). Confirmation emails are bouncing because this server's admin can't be bothered to update his/her blocking database. *Insert Effie making grumpy noises*
So, if you recognize 64.202.163.76, whomever that is, and you have a contact there, perhaps you can enlighten them. In the meantime, my apologies to those games hosted on that server. Resubmit with a working email address. We'll keep you.
