Father of Gaming Passes

Gary Gygax one of the originators of the RPG system died March 4th in his Lake Geneva home at the age of 69. Dave Arneson and Gary Gygax created the first D&D game or themselves and from there the basis of modern RPG was formed.

After a stroke in May 2004, Gygax went into "semi-retirement." He was working with Dreams Interactive to recreate Legendary Adventures into a MMorpg, was active on many gaming sites and available for interviews.

In an interview in 2005 with Gamespy, Gygax said

"I would like the world to remember me as the guy who really enjoyed playing games and sharing his knowledge and his fun pastimes with everybody else."

He will be remembered for that and more. Gary, thank you for the games and sharing your imagination with us to inspire others.

There will always be those who didn't care for his personality, me among them, but you can't deny what the man did for gaming. You'll be missed, E. Gary.
