[How To] Take and Share a Screenshot

Windows allows you to take a snapshot of what is shown on your computer screen and save it as a file. You can share this image with other people via web pages or email. You may be asking why this is important and why you would want to share screen shots of your computer. Two reasons come to mind, though there are many others:

1. You see a website drastically different than others. You can take and share a screenshot to show your perspective.

2. You did something you find to be really cool or interesting and would like others to be able to see it.

Taking a screen shot

To take a shot of the entire screen, press the PrtSc or PrintScreen button on your keyboard. A copy of your current screen will be placed in the Windows clipboard.

Voting on my site, on my site.

I know that a vote option can be placed on our own site, so that visitors there can vote as well. Problem is, I can't seem to find the instructions/code for how.

Help?

Die Roller ?

Does anyone know where I can pick up some code for a die roller? I'm specifically looking for one that will allow multiple rolls with various sided dice that will post the results for registered users on my site and that will allow a description to be added to the roll.

Top 100 Ranking

Just wondering here.

I was finding it interesting that my site www.stormhavenonline.org in the live action/fantasy has more hits and votes than several of the listed sites on the top 100. With a 5 star ranking I thought I would at least rank.

Um, hi guys. I just want to make you aware that the link to my page is for some reason replaced with "http://enduringtwilight.com/" when it should be "http://www.legendsofsatura.com". This is a mistake I can not have contributed to myself as I didn't even konw the other page existed until today when I shocked tried to see if the link to my page functioned.

Assistance requested

I wanted to modify the link to my site, The Dark Frontier, but instead I apparently screwed up the voting code somehow (instead of the page that says the vote has been registered I got a bunch of gibberish) and I got a new listing. My old listing has more votes, and I'd like to get it back - can someone help me change the link?

I'm pretty sure I posted this link on the old Gateway forums, but it might be good to have it here as well.

Incorrect site listing

Hiyas, I hope this is the right place to submit this.

I recently applied to have my site listed on RPG Gateway. It was processed quickly, which was lovely, but when I clicked the link to test it, the site it took me to was someone else's entirely.

doctype

I was recently looking at the guidelines for the amber quill and gold wyrm awards, and there is link to a website where you can get your html validated, or checked, anyway, to make sure its valid. I have a doc type error, and I have no idea how to fix that. (I simply don't have one, a doc type). I was wondering if anyone around here could give me some advice? The help they had here http://validator.w3.org/ just confused me more.

I need new hosting

Well, I think I do.

TCH are very good hosts at a very good price, but I'm having major issues with my site being blocked on computers it used to be ok with using IPB which my users can view when they look at other peoples forums, so I think it may be a problem with the shared hosting.

Problem with Site Listing

I hope this is the right place to post this...

My site has disappeared from the RPGGateway Site Listing. It was there for quite a while, but now I cannot find it (and the 'vote for this site' button no longer works, so I didn't just miss it). I didn't receive an email about it, it is a legitimate RP site, and I don't even know how to cheat in the voting, so...

PbP, CMS, and one complete beginner

Okay so I am not a complete beginner to pbp, I have been running and playing in them for 9 years, and been rping for about a decade or so before that.

The point of this, I am currently in the stages of building a new pbp, sort of a behind the scenes project for myself and a few fellow admins/moderators from other groups I have been part of. We have always before played on MSN groups (ewww yuck! I know!). The current request is that we remove this project from MSN groups, and I am all for this. The problem comes in here, they have all seen pretty rp sites running in CMS' and I being the most online tech savvy (pretty sad huh?) have been given the job of making this new site go while they work on content and rules. This comes as I designed the graphics for most of the groups I have been part of, many of those groups are still running the graphics I designed, even several years later.

Questions about Voting System

I've got a question about how your rating system works and is tracked. Upon viewing my site I see that the rating is 2 stars with 26 votes. Now my concern comes with two other sites that are on your system. These two games and mine share a player base, however, the other two games for various reasons, have had a decline in players over the last several years. My game came out recently (We publicly opened on Feb 6th) and I have a feeling that the Forum Directors from these two other sites have gone through and given intentionally poor ratings out of spite.
